Welcome to Aurorum BusinessLab!
Do you have a business idea you would like to evaluate, before starting to set up a company? Then you will get a warm welcome at Aurorum BusinessLab.
Here you will receive help to survey the market and competitors, carry out a risk analysis and produce your own business plan – the key document for how your business idea can be put into effect. You also get to evaluate your entrepreneurship and your life situation, that is, whether you are cut out to be a business leader.
Starting from you personally and your prospects, we also help you to raise funding for the test period, and gain a broad contact network, both in the business community, among decision-makers and in Luleå University of Technology.
What is Busines Lab
Aurorum BusinessLab is, to put it simply, a pre-incubator.
The pre-incubator forms a take-off run of up to 6 months and is based on checklists which must include everything of significance to a possible business start-up. The checklists steer the work in the BusinessLab and include the procedures that must be carried out before the entrepreneur arrives at decision-making. The work is done under the supervision of experienced business developers.
The BusinessLab is divided into two parallel development lines, one of which is support for and evaluation of the person/entrepreneur and the other consists of input to evaluate and process the product idea.
The start-up phase focuses especially on activities and work material that brings the participants to understand their own entrepreneurial potential, and if this is limited, the participant can choose to withdraw from the project. It is crucial that this insight is reached before the completion of the start-up phase. The programme is useful even to those who choose to withdraw their participation, as it gives valuable insight into entrepreneurial method and an understanding of entrepreneurship that is often lacking in the business world, among both management and employees.
The content of the start-up phase can be divided into three main topics;
- The entrepreneur
- The business idea
- The market
’Traffic lights’ indicate whether the status of work in each respective area is ’Complete, ’In waiting mode’ or ’Stop’. A green light is required to be able to move on.
The point where a decision is made marks the end of the BusinessLab.
Three roads lead on from here:
- A move to Aurorum Business Incubator and immediate continuation
- Licensing of techniques, products, concepts or business idea with an external interest or collaboration with a strategic partner.
- Decision to abandon the project.
