D-Flow Technology
Products used all over the world
One success story is the company D-Flow Technology, rooted in
research at Luleå University of Technology. The results have
generated a unique technology for flow measuring based on
ultrasound. With an ultrasound meter the flow of both gases and
fluids can be measured. The foremost advantage of the technology is
that it meets high specifications, is robust, and has no moving
parts.
D-Flow Technology is a restart of the company D-Flow AB, which
was established at the end of the 80s, but become bankrupt in 2004.
The new company has new management and new partners, and at the end
of 2005 it joined ABI Arctic Business incubator. Today, D-Flow
Technology supplies products that are used all over the
world.
"We received active operative support which complemented us in
negotiations with customers in different countries as well as in
the day-to-day issues that crop up. That enabled us to give our
customers quick and professional feedback on complex legal or
business issues. This was arranged in a simple, flexible way via
our business consultant and the ABI network," says Mats Lindgren,
CEO and one of the founders of D-Flow.
We reduced the risks by being in the incubator environment which
meant among other things that we could adapt the size of our
premises to the size of our company. We also benefited greatly from
different courses in areas such as negotiation, sales and law,"
says Mats.
"To work for yourself is a challenge, but a very stimulating one
because you can control and influence your own time in the short
term, as well as in the long term. The future looks bright and we
are on the verge of introducing the next generation of our key
component, an ASIC, after more than two years' development work. We
have several ongoing projects and customers waiting for the new
circuit, as well as a number of other prospects," concludes a
contented Mats Lindgren.
